Ms. Kackley's recommendation is that you start by applying for scholarships at the institution that you plan on attending. Almost every university has their own scholarships listed on it's website.

Listed below are links to scholarship searches. Please read the directions connected to each search link. For listed local, regional and national scholarships, please click on the links to the right. As always, please sign up to see your Holden High School counselor if you have any questions or concerns.
 
CAPPEX: Your College Decision Headquarters - Allows one to search for all campus-based scholarships where over 93% of all scholarship dollars are found.
 
FINAID: The SmartStudent Guide to Financial Aid - Comprehensive, unbiased free information about all aspects of need-based financial aid.
 
UNCF: Better Futures for All Americans - The UNCF Program Services Department manages various scholarship programs. Each program has its own eligibility criteria, open/close dates and required documentation. To apply for a UNCF scholarship, you must apply through the on-line application process.
 
 
FAFSA: Free Application for Federal Student Aid - The official United States government's financial aid web presence. WATCH OUT for any "fafsa.com" sites, which are for-profit, private websites. Be sure it has the .ed.gov in the address bar! Complete the Free Application after January 1st of your senior year. Be sure your parents have completed their tax filing which would be due in April of your senior year.
DEADLINES FOR FAFSA:
FEDERAL DEADLINE: Online applications must be submitted by midnight Central Time, June 30, in the summer after your first year of college. However, most schools require the FAFSA be completed before admission.
STATE DEADLINE: Missouri, midnight, Central Time, April 1st of your senior year of high school.  In order to be eligible for the Access Missouri Grant you will need to apply by February 1.
 
COLLEGE DEADLINE: Check with the college(s) you are interested in attending. You may also want to ask your college about its definition of an application deadline - whether it is the date the college receives your FAFSA, or the date your FAFSA is processed.
