This is a list of national scholarships. Any student may apply to these scholarships, regardless of where they live or what university they will be attending. Be sure to read the eligibility requirements before applying! Never pay more than postage for anything

Real World Design Challenge Scholarships- Up to 50,000- 7 Awards Nationally- Deadline November 22nd, 2019.

  • Sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, awarding more than $500,000 in college scholarships to students pursuing ag-related degrees across the country. Here are more details:
  • 352 eligible students will each receive a $1,500 scholarship.
 
 
  • Applicants must be descendants of a veteran with at least 90 days of active service.  Send a photocopy of the veterans DD214, discharge, or separation notice with the application.  There are 6 scholarships ranging from $500-1,000.

  • Are you caring for an adult relative and planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college? If so, then you should apply for the Caring.com Student-Caregiver Scholarship. Interested students will need to complete a 1500-word essay or a 2-minute video addressing their role as a student-caregiver. The scholarship award is for $1,500. Please visit Caring.com for more information and application details. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2018.
 
College Sports Recruiting Scholarship
  • This scholarship can only be applied towards the cost of tuition, books, or room and board.
 
  • The application must be submitted to the Elks Lodge closest to the student's permanent home address. The top 20 finalists will participate in a Leadership Weekend in Chicago during which they will interview with national judges. There will be two first-place awards of $50,000; two second-place awards of $40,000; and two third-place awards of $30,000. The remaining 14 finalists will receive awards of $20,000 each. The 480 runners-up will receive fifth-place awards of $4,000.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program

Hammett, Bellin & Oswald Law & Justice Scholarship

  • Hammett, Bellin & Oswald, LLC are pleased to offer the 2018 Hammett, Bellin & Oswald Law & Justice Scholarship. This Scholarship is open to all first year freshman who will be attending an accredited College or University during the 2018-2019 school year (current high school seniors are eligible to apply). Special consideration will be given to a student who is interested in pursuing a career in law and meets the requirements. $750.00 will be awarded to one student for use towards their school costs. Horatio Alger Association Scholarship 

  • There are both national and state scholarships. Scholarships range from $6,000 - $22,000
  • Eligibility requirements:
    • Be enrolled full-time as a high school senior
    • Exhibit strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree
    • Demonstrate critical financial need
    • Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
    • Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
    • Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
    • Be a United States citizen

 

  • Interested students should register for the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest.  Registration involves writing an essay on an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official who served during or after 1956.  First-place winner receives $10,000.  Second-place winner receives $1,000.  Five finalists receive $500 each.  You could win an expense-paid trip to Boston.  The winner will also receive recognition at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston, Massachusetts.  Visit jfklibrary.org for more information and to register. 

 

  • The Jackie Robinson Foundation offers promising minority students four-year grants up to $30,000. Eligible students must show leadership potential and demonstrate financial need to attend an accredited 4-year college or university of their choice.  Interested students should visit jackierobinson.org for more information. The deadline to apply is February 1st, 2018

 

  • Lighthouse Guild offers an annual scholarship for college-bound high school students who are legally blind. The program will award approximately 10 college-bound scholarships of up to $10,000 each.   • MattressHelp.org is offering a $1,000 scholarship to help increase sleep health awareness and offset the costs of higher education. This scholarship is available to eligible high school seniors. Interested students can visithttps://mattresshelp.org/scholarship for more information and an application. The deadline to apply is September 25, 2018.

 

  • Graduating high school seniors who operate their own small business are eligible to receive a 2016 NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award.  100 scholarships will be awarded ranging from $2,000 to $25,000.  Visit NFIB.com/YEA for more information.

 

  • Oratorical Contest:  Club-level award winners will receive a medallion.  Zone and Regional level winners will receive a plaque.  Scholarship awards up to $2,500 at the District-level.  Application Deadline is mid-February.
  • Essay Contest:   Club-level award winners will receive a medallion. Scholarship awards up to $2,500 at the District-level.  Application Deadline is mid-February.
  • In order to qualify for the local Optimist Scholarship, students must apply for one of the above scholarships.  The Optimist Scholarship is $400.    

 

 ZipRecruiter.com Scholarship 

  • Attention Seniors: Ziprecruiter.com is offering a $3,000 scholarship to the winning student with the most creative entry in their scholarship promotion. To enter, students must write a 500-800 word essay that addresses a job previously or currently held and describe the ideal post-graduate job. The deadline to apply is November 30, 2019.
