Below you will find a list of local scholarships, what form needs to be used to apply (w/ link), and the Due Date to turn them in to Kendra Jones!

Applications are HIGHLY encouraged to be TYPED then printed. Please let a counselor know if you have any questions.

Beyond Expectations Scholarship (Use Own form) - March 20, 2026
This scholarship is proudly presented to a Holden High School senior who encounters challenges in the classroom and has displayed exceptional educational ability and succeeded beyond expectations. These students add resiliency, dedication and integrity to our school community and the promise of a valuable future. Trade school, certifications and higher education are supported. Must have an IEP or a 504.

Chapter GS, PEO Scholarship (Use Local Form) - March 20, 2026
This scholarship represents a commitment to education. It is intended to encourage a Holden High School graduate to pursue higher education.

Dr. John & Fran Yoder Memorial Scholarship (Use Local Form) - March 20, 2026
John and Fran Yoder were lifelong educators and had a great love of their community. This scholarship is intended to help students interested in teaching/education succeed and inspire Holden High School seniors to reach their dreams of higher education or trade school.

Druscilla Krockenberger Memorial Scholarship (Use Local Form) - March 20, 2026
This scholarship is given in memory of Druscilla Krockenberger, a highly esteemed teacher and friend of youth. It is given to encourage a Holden High School graduate to achieve the dream of higher education.

Dustin Cleveland Memorial Scholarship (Use Own Form) - March 20, 2026
This scholarship is given in memory of Dustin Thomas Cleveland. Dustin was a bright, strong and caring young man who had many friends. One of Dustin’s goals in life was to be the first in his immediate family to go to college and earn a degree. Unfortunately, this goal was not able to be accomplished. With this in mind, we would like to honor Dustin by presenting the Dustin Cleveland Memorial Scholarship to a deserving young man or woman who is a senior student at Holden High School and would like to further their education.

Helen & Wendell Hallar (Use Local Form) - March 20, 2026
This scholarship is being awarded in the name of Helen and Wendell Hallar. Helen was a dedicated math teacher in the Holden R-III School District for 32 years. Helen also led the National Honor Society program for many years. The scholarship is awarded to a student who is going to become an educator.

Holden Activities Department Scholarship (Use Own Form) - March 20, 2026
These scholarships are given yearly by the Holden R-III School District Activities Department. These scholarships have been created and will be awarded to deserving senior students who have represented Holden High School in athletics and activities. To be a member of interscholastic activities know how important their character will be in determining their individual and team’s success. They understand the necessity for discipline, and will strive to improve as a person, student and as a teammate.

Holden Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship (Use Own Form) - March 20, 2026
The Holden Area Chamber of Commerce scholarship has been created for and will be awarded to a deserving senior student who exhibits strong leadership skills, organizational skills, community involvement, and would like to further their education by pursuing a college degree or attending a vocational school.

Holden Class of 1963 Scholarship (Use Local Form) - March 20, 2026
This scholarship will benefit Holden students pursuing a 2 or 4 year college, vocational or trade schools.

Holden Foundation Scholarship (Use Own Form) - March 20, 2026
This scholarship is to encourage a student to pursue their college education. It is the hope of the Foundation that their support of our seniors will benefit the future of our community.

Holden Foundation Memorial Scholarships (Use Local Form) - March 20, 2026
Memorial contributions made to further the education of Holden High School seniors and help them reach their full potential as learners and community minded leaders .In Memory Of: Rich Gavoli and Cleo Hunter.

Holden Billy Brown & Geno Martin Memorial Wrestling Scholarship (Use Own Form) - March 20, 2026
Wrestling requires the participant to pursue and develop many personal traits, such as courage, confidence and the will to persevere. The intent of this scholarship is to recognize and assist those persons that have committed 3+ years with HHS Wrestling in the hopes that they will utilize those traits in continuance of their pursuit for higher learning.

Jeanne Briscoe Taylor Scholarship (Use Local Form) - March 20, 2026
The Jeanne Briscoe Taylor scholarship is given to assist a high school senior in his/her quest for a college degree. It is intended to be a financial encouragement for a senior to attend college.

Mary Virginia Yoder Scholarship (Use Local Form) - March 20, 2026
This scholarship is given in memory of Mary Virginia Yoder in honor of her 39 years of dedication to teaching in elementary education. The scholarship will assist students committed to becoming elementary teachers.

Nancy Parks Montgomery Memorial Scholarship (Use Local Form) - March 20, 2026
Nancy Parks Montgomery was a 1975 graduate of Holden High School, was a teacher and counselor in the school district, and served as a member of the Holden R-3 Board of Education. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist a Holden graduate to pursue career goals that will benefit the community.

Nathaniel Closen Memorial Scholarship (Use Local Form) - March 20, 2026
Nathaniel was an excellent student. His friends described him as passionate, caring and talented. He had the ability to put a smile on everyone’s face. Nathaniel spoke to and connected with people through his music and humor and brought joy to many by being a friend in so many thoughtful ways. This scholarship is awarded to a senior who embodies these same traits.

Operational Professional Services Scholarship (Use Own Form) - March 20, 2026
The Operational Professional Services (OPS) is presenting two scholarships for Holden High School graduates to further their education.

R.S. Mickey Memorial Scholarship (Use Local Form) - March 20, 2026
Given in memory of R.S. Mickey’s interest in, and love for, the youth of the Holden community. The scholarship is intended to encourage or financially aid a Holden High School graduate in the pursuit of his/her education goals. The scholarship requirements are intended to encourage greater academic achievement.

Rusty Hartwell Memorial Scholarship (Use Local Form) - March 20, 2026
This scholarship is presented in memory of Rusty Hartwell. It is intended to financially assist a Holden High School graduate to pursue higher education.

Susan Jennings Memorial Scholarship (Use Own Form) - March 20, 2026
This scholarship is given in memory of Susan Jennings to a female student who has been involved in athletics, community youth programs, community service projects, or who has been committed to helping others.

West Central Electric Cooperative AECI Technical Scholarship (Use Local Form) - March 20, 2026
This scholarship is awarded by the AECI Holden Power Plant, which provides power to West Central Electric Cooperative, to encourage a student pursuing a degree in a technical fields.
