Action Plan 6A: Provide a Working Environment That is Conducive to a Professional Learning Community (PLC)
Continue to gather school climate and culture data and implement strategies for improvement.
Continue to provide opportunities for collaborative teaming.
Develop and implement a Professional Development Plan (PDP) that meets the needs of our teachers to deliver high quality instruction, innovative and relevant learning experiences, quality assessments, behavioral interventions, data analysis, and collaboration.
Action Plan 6B: Employ and Retain High Quality Staff
Provide sufficient staffing of qualified and highly effective personnel to achieve the school system's mission, vision, and goals. Staff to student ratios should meet standards set by MSIP for teachers, library staff, counselors, and administrators.
Employ the use of a comprehensive, performance-based evaluation system aligned to state standards for certificated staff and job descriptions of non-certificated staff.
Maintain a benefits package and salary scales for certificated, non-certificated and administrative staff that attract quality applicants.
Provide leadership opportunities for staff members and systems for staff feedback and input.
Provide an effective induction and mentoring program to all staff members new to the district or profession.
Update and/or develop recruitment materials and processes to increase the number and quality of applicants for all district staff positions.
