Ann Cates, President

Ann has called Holden home her whole life. After graduating from Holden High School, she started her career at F&C Bank, first working as a part-time teller. She currently serves as Assistant Vice President - Controller 1 and has over 22 years with F&C Bank. Ann has served on various boards and in a variety of groups in Holden over the years and is currently serving as the Secretary of the Hope Coalition Board.

Ann and her husband, Coy, are proud to raise their daughters, Callie & Camille, in the same school district they graduated from. In her free time, she enjoys reading, porch sitting, and taking family vacations to the beach. She says her girls' activities keep her busy and she loves spending time with family and friends.

Sarah Abel, Vice President

Sarah Abel was elected to the Holden R-3 Board of Education in April 2025 and will serve a three-year term through 2028. She previously served on the board from 2019 to 2022. A former teacher in the district, Sarah brings a strong understanding of the education environment and a continued passion for supporting students and staff. She and her husband own a local business in Holden, where she now works. Sarah is also a proud Holden parent—two of her children are graduates of the district, and she currently has one son attending school here.

Bobby Zimmer III, Treasurer

Robert Zimmer III has been a Holden, Missouri resident for over 40 years and is an alumni of Holden High School. He has been the superintendent of CMG Construction for 23 years. Robert is a member of the Holden Masonic Lodge and is active with The Hometown Project group which volunteers revitalizing Holden. He is married to Lynette and all their children (Seth, Kyleigh, Abbi, Cole, & Annie) graduated from Holden.

Nathan Haun, Board Member

Nathan Haun was elected to the Board of Education in April 2022. He attended Holden R-3 from Kindergarten through graduation, after which he attended UCM for a time.

Nathan is married to Nicole, and they welcomed their son in 2022. Their daughter arrived in August of 2024. He works with his family in the agriculture industry and is very involved with activities at his church. He is a member of Friends and Family of the FFA, multiple agriculture organizations and the Holden School Foundation. Nathan, along with his wife, led youth ministry for five years. He has volunteered with several ministries and organizations that serve students as well as adults. Nathan was also able to be a foster parent for a couple months.

He appreciates the support of the community and the opportunity to serve on the board.

Debbie Doney, Board Member

Debbie Doney has lived in Holden for 11 years. She has Associates Degree’s in Paralegal Law, Psych Tech Nursing, and Barbering. She graduated from Graceland University with a Master’s in Literacy. Later, she graduated with her Doctorate in Christian Education from Heart of America Seminary.

Debbie has a passion for seeing students succeed and become contributing members of their community. She currently works with dyslexic and learning disabled students to help them learn to read, having trained as a Reading Tutor in the Orton-Gillingham Approach. Debbie also serves as the secretary and treasurer of God’s Family Ministries at GF Ranch and Church. Previously, she has served as President of  the Lone Jack Youth Club, as well as a city council member for Lone Jack, Missouri.

Debbie is married to Pastor John Doney. Together they have nine children, 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

 

Georgia Jarman, Board Member

Georgia has lived in Holden for 52 years. She attended high school at William Chrisman, and afterwards attended both UCM and St. Louis University. Georgia says teaching first grade has been her favorite job. She has also been in early childhood and elementary administration. She spent 10 years as an Early Childhood and Elementary Education Instructor at UCM. She also worked for two years in Advisement and Instruction in Literacy at a charter school.

Georgia has served on many boards and associations. She served on the Trails Regional Library Board, All School Reunion Committee, and the MSBA executive committee. She has also been a Future Builders Foundation Member, MAACE representative, advocate and presenter for MSBA events, secretary for Blackwater Cemetery, and wrote scoring guides for the MSBA Awards. Additionally, she has started Holden Book Club and Holden Cookbook Club. Georgia has been an active member of the United Methodist Church, acting as Pastor-Parish Chair, Building & Grounds Supervisor, and Bible School Chair over the years.

Georgia is married to her husband Dale, and has two sons, two daughter in laws and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren. 

 

Jaime Schutte, Board Member

First Elected 2026

Term Ends 2029

Jaime has been a Holden resident for five years. Jaime says of all the small towns she has lived in, Holden is her favorite. She attended high school in Verona, New Jersey and earned a Bachelor’s from Appalachian State University, followed by her Master’s at St. Peter’s College. Two years ago, Jaime completed her doctorate degree through William Woods college. She is currently an Assistant Principal for Raytown schools.

Jaime has been married for over 12 years, and has four children ranging from 10 to 27 years old. Jaime is also excited to be a grandma soon! She loves to swim, travel, and read. She also enjoys participating in athletics with her children, as well as participating in 4H and doing farm work.
