Nathan Haun, President

Nathan Haun was elected to the Board of Education in April 2022. He attended Holden R-3 from Kindergarten through graduation, after which he attended UCM for a time.
Nathan is married to Nicole, and they welcomed their son in 2022. Their daughter arrived in August of 2024. He works with his family in the agriculture industry and is very involved with activities at his church. He is a member of Friends and Family of the FFA, multiple agriculture organizations and the Holden School Foundation. Nathan, along with his wife, led youth ministry for five years. He has volunteered with several ministries and organizations that serve students as well as adults. Nathan was also able to be a foster parent for a couple months.
He appreciates the support of the community and the opportunity to serve on the board.
Gerilynn Hoover, Vice President

Gerilynn Hoover was elected to the Board of Education in April 2022. She has lived in the Holden R-3 School District for 50 years, attending grades 1-6 here, and has had two sons graduate from Holden High School. She graduated from UCM with an Associates Degree. Gerilynn retired from her career at Kansas City Life Insurance after 30 years and currently works at Heiman's True Value in Holden.
Gerilynn is active in the community, organizing and leading Christian women's events; she attends Open Range Fellowship Church in Lone Jack and is part of Team Jesus, a ministry in Independence. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 38 years, Tim, and other family, which includes 5 grandchildren: Gracie, Aubrie, Lily, Avery, and Wyatt.
Tonyea Inglis, Treasurer

Tonyea Inglis was first elected to the Board of Education in April 2017. She has lived in the Holden R-3 School District for 18 years. Tonyea and her husband, Kenny, have two children - Bri, who attends school in Holden, and Lane, who graduated in May 2024. Tonyea is the Director of Research - Regulatory Compliance and Environmental Health and Safety, for a medical research institute. She holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene from the University of Central Missouri. Tonyea is the also chair of the UCM MSIH Advisory Board.
Matt Ferguson, Board Member

Matt grew up in Visalia, California, and enlisted in the US Air Force after graduating high school, working as a tactical satellite communication technician. He enjoyed this work, but was anxious to return to civilian life and earn a college degree. Following his tour in Iraq in 2004, he got married and started at a small community college in Bellingham, Washington. Matt transferred to Western Washington University to finish his Environmental Science degree and stayed to complete his Masters in the same field. He continued his education at the University of Montana, where his studies largely focused on inhalation toxicology and particulate exposures, and earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Toxicology.
In 2015, Matt began working as an Industrial Hygiene Program Manager, as a civilian, for the US Army. From 2017-2020, he served as the State Toxicologist in Montana. Currently, Matt is working as a health scientist here in Missouri.
Matt's family includes his wife, Patty , and four kids, all of which attend school here in Holden. His favorite activities include backpacking, camping, fishing, road trips, exploring, metal detecting, movie watching, and playing the piano.
Ann Cates, Board Member

Ann has called Holden home her whole life. After graduating from Holden High School, she started her career at F&C Bank, first working as a part-time teller. She currently serves as Assistant Vice President - Controller 1 and has over 21 years with F&C Bank. Ann has served on various boards and in a variety of groups in Holden over the years and is currently serving as the Secretary of the Hope Coalition Board.
Ann and her husband, Coy, are proud to raise their daughters, Callie & Camille, in the same school district they graduated from. In her free time, she enjoys reading, porch sitting, and taking family vacations to the beach. She says her girls' activities keep her busy and she loves spending time with family and friends.
Alex Haun, Board Member

Alex Haun graduated from Holden High School in 2013 and continued his education at State Fair Community College. After graduating from SFCC with an Associate of Applied Science in Agriculture, he pursued his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business from the University of Central Missouri, graduating in 2018.
Alex, a member of the Missouri Farm Bureau, is a fourth generation farmer in Holden, and works along side his family. He also owns a business selling agricultural chemicals, crops, and livestock.
While in school, he spent time as Holden FFA Chapter President, became a state FFA officer, and went on to serve as the president of the National Professional Agricultural Student Organization. Currently, he is involved with state FFA as the Assistant Superintendent for FFA at the Missouri State Fair and serves on the executive board for the Missouri Cattleman's Association.
Bobby Zimmer III, Board Member

Robert Zimmer III has been a Holden, Missouri resident for over 40 years and is an alumni of Holden High School. He has been the superintendent of CMG Construction for 20 years. Robert is a member of the Holden Masonic Lodge and is active with The Hometown Project group which volunteers revitalizing Holden. He is married to Lynette and all their children (Seth, Kyleigh, Abbi, Cole, & Annie) currently attend school in the Holden R-3 District or have graduated from Holden.
