Holden Honors Veterans
Veterans Day 2025 - Tuesday, November 11
The Holden R-3 School District invites all local veterans to a community-wide Veterans Day celebration on Tuesday, November 11, featuring a free breakfast and parade in their honor.
The district’s annual Veterans Day event begins with a complimentary hot breakfast at 7:45 a.m. in the Holden High School cafeteria, prepared by the district’s food service company, Opaa! Visitors may enter through the west cafeteria doors or the main high school entrance, where student leaders will be on hand to greet guests and visit during breakfast.
This year’s breakfast will bring together veterans, students, and staff in one central location, allowing veterans with family members in multiple school buildings to celebrate together.
Parking will be available in the staff lot between Holden High School and Holden Elementary School.
Following breakfast, veterans are invited to take part in a campus parade, led by local first responders and the Holden High School marching band. Those wishing to participate in the parade should line up, in their vehicles, in front of the high school following breakfast. The parade will begin shortly after 9:00 a.m. Participants will drive through the school’s bus lane while students from all grade levels line the route to show their appreciation.
All veterans are welcome to attend—whether or not they have current connections to Holden Schools. To help with planning, veterans are asked to RSVP by Friday, November 7, by calling the Holden High School at (816) 732-5523.
