We proudly celebrate the achievements of two of our administrative leaders, Emily Brockhaus and Grant M. Guevel. Both were recently honored at the precommencement ceremony for Saint Louis University's Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership program, held at St. Francis Xavier College Church in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Emily Brockhaus, Director of W.I.N.G.S. Academy & District Curriculum Director, completed her dissertation titled “An Investigation of the Barriers that Impact Leadership in Rural School Districts,” a study that brings valuable insight into the unique challenges rural leaders face and the support needed to foster effective educational leadership.

Dr. Grant M. Guevel, Holden High School Principal, completed his dissertation, “The Effects of Open Enrollment on Superintendent Levels of Readiness: A Problem-Based Leadership Approach to Change Management,” examining how policy shifts impact district-level leadership and preparedness.

“Earning a doctorate degree from Saint Louis University is an arduous task,” said Holden R-3 Superintendent Mike Hough. “It takes several years of dedication and commitment, and both of these fine educators have worked diligently to reach that milestone while balancing their careers and family life. The Holden R-3 School District is fortunate to have Dr. Brockhaus and Dr. Guevel working for the children in our community.”
