    • Pysanky Eggs

Pysanky is a traditional art form from the Ukraine that is thousands of years old.  They look like painted eggs, but they are actually created using a wax-resist technique.  You can learn more about pysanky and watch a great episode of Reading Rainbow featuring Patricia Polacco and her book Rechenka’s Eggs here:

    • 5th Grade - Starfish have tiny feet...

"Did you know starfish have tiny feet? Well, not exactly. They have tiny tubes that propel them across the ocean floor. Besides moving, these tubular toes help with breathing, eating, and sticking to surfaces. Science!"

    • 5th Grade - Sand Dollars: It’s Alive!

"Sand dollars are amazing creatures that are in fact alive despite seeming like they do not move. This video shows that sand dollars do move, as well as the difference between a live and a dead sand dollar."
