Welcome to my 2nd grade learning farm where growing leaders and inspiring greatness is cultivated. I have many learning experiences in store for your "hand" for the 2019-2020 school year. EVERY "hand" will be provided with opportunities to grow academically, become independent learners, and nurture their leadership ability. You also play an important role in your child's educational success! Therefore, it is crucial that we keep communication open all year. I utilize Class Dojo to help keep our communication line open.
We should begin our year with you and your "hand" knowing who I am! My name is Stephanie Atkinson and this is my 24th year in teaching. I am proud to say, "All 24 years have been here at Holden R-III"! I was hired during my student teaching, which I did with Sally Davidson (Kindergarten) and Judy Huffman (4th), in 1995. I am always looking for a challenge (rejuvenating my mind), so since my hire in 1995, I have taught kindergarten, 3rd grade, preschool (Eagles' Nest), back to kindergarten, and now 2nd grade.
I am married to Bobby Atkinson and we live approximately four miles west of Chilhowee. We have two daughters, one son, two son-in-laws, six granddaughters, three grandsons, four horses, six coyote hunting hounds and three cats. Jeff is our oldest, and he currently lives in Las Vegas with his wife and five children. Letisha is our oldest daughter. She graduated from HHS as salutatorian in 2008. She graduated from UCM with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2012. She resides in Odessa with her husband and 4-year-old daughter (4 in Sept.). Lisa is our "baby", at age 25! She graduated from HHS in 2011 and has a degree in photography from UCM. Lisa is is married and resides in North Dakota with her husband and 1-year-old son. They are blessing us with another grandchild in December!
I look forward to meeting all my new "hands" and their families!
