    Our Community

Holden is a progressive small town with a population of 2,200. The Holden community enjoys the quiet peace and beauty of the rural Missouri countryside, but is just a short drive from Kansas City and all of the attractions of a major metropolitan area. Many of our residents work in the Kansas City metro in areas such as sales, management, business, science, arts and service.

Although Holden is situated near a major metro area, much of Johnson County, Missouri, is still made up of rich farm fields, pastures and cool, quiet timberland. Western Johnson County features rolling prairie land dotted with farms, lakes and ponds, woods, trails, and small residential tracts.  Holden’s unique combination of country living located conveniently near a major metro area offers the opportunity to live and grow in a relaxed, friendly and progressive atmosphere.

The Holden R-III School District has strong community ties which allow many positive partnerships with the many supportive businesses, civic and faith-based organizations throughout the school district. The District is proud of our schools and are truly honored by the support of our “Holden Eagle” community.
