The Visual Arts Grade Level Expectations (GLEs) describe what students should know and be able to do by the end of each grade level. The GLEs guide my instruction and can help you understand what is expected of your child.

In April 2019, the Missouri State Board of Education approved a new Grade Level Expectations for the arts (visual art, music, theater, dance, and media arts). You can view the new GLEs for Visual Art here.
While the previous standards were specific and tight, the new standards "allow for a broader interpretation to allow for student driven creative exploration." For a comparison between the old and the new standards, you can view this "crosswalk."
I will gradually be working into the new standards, but will still incorporate much of what you see in the files below.
