Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Amy Fennewald

This is my tenth year teaching 7th grade math.  I am originally from Palmyra, which is in northeast Missouri.  I went to college at the University of Central Missouri and then got my masters from William Woods University.  My husband, Michael, and I live in Holden with our three children: Emily (11), Katie (3), and Lucas (8 months).

My favorite time of year is when it is time to start Math Team.  It is wonderful to be surrounded by all my "math nerds"!  Try outs are in January and I encourage everyone to participate.  We solve logic puzzles, practice problems, and become experts in certain areas of math.  Then, we take our knowledge and go to competitions to try to out-smart the other contestants.  We have a lot of fun and do a lot of math (which tend to go hand in hand)!

I encourage parents and students alike to contact me with questions and concerns throughout the year.  Our communication is vital to student success.  Whether a student comes to see me before school or a parent sends an e-mail, I am glad to help in any way that I can.  My goal every year is to make math easy for everyone.  And to convince them to like Chuck Norris.  And the St. Louis Cardinals.
