A Very Special Bus Driver to a Second Grade Class

Some people are just really special! Ms. Merridee Colster is one of those. Ms. Colster, the bus driver for Bus #8 for the Holden R-III School District, has become very special to Mrs. Shelli Tilden’s second graders. Ms. Colster has more or less "adopted" Mrs. Tilden's class this school year. What started as a routine field trip with a group of students has built into quite an extraordinary relationship with Mrs. Tilden’s students. Mrs. Tilden's classroom has requested Ms. Colster as their bus driver time and time again this year for their second grade field trips. With no schedule conflicts, Ms. Colster has been able to make every trip this year. Ms. Colster has reciprocated by sending Mrs. Tilden's class special cards and treats for various occasions such as Halloween, Christmas and Easter. The week before Mother's Day, Ms. Colster came into Mrs. Tilden's classroom to help students create a gift for their mothers for Mother's Day.
Mrs. Tilden's students have expressed how much they have enjoyed having "their" very special bus driver for all of their second grade field trips this year! Ms. Colster has told the students how much she has appreciated how well behaved they have been while traveling on her bus this year.
