School is back underway, and we are excited to begin another great school year. The Holden R-III School District has made great strides over the past several years. The District has, and is, seeing record high daily student attendance rates. This has lead to record low dropout rates and continued outstanding graduation rates. The District has also implemented its “Take Flight” Program, a 1 to 1 program that provides every student in grades K-12 a computer device to assist with daily lessons. This tool is allowing the classroom instruction to meet the needs of today’s learners. These accomplishments are not easy and is a credit to the students, community, and faculty working together to create an atmosphere for academic success.

Recently you may have received a link to a survey asking you to rank what you value as important goals for public schools. The District is always working to reflect the needs of the community it serves. Patrons may access the survey online from our school website at www.holdenschools.org. The survey information will be used as a part of our upcoming planning session to update the District’s five-year plan called the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan or CSIP. This is a document, that once revised, works to guide district goals and our direction into the future. If you think you would be interested in taking part in this planning process, please contact Holden R-III Central Office at 816-732-5568 and we can add you to the list to attend a planning session.

Please remember to stay up-to-date with all district activities by visiting the district website at www.holdenschools.org and as always “SOAR Like an Eagle!”
