Greenhouse Plant Sale Saturday, May 6 • 9 am-noon Greenhouse will also be open to the public during the day throughout the school week of May 1. Please come and take advantage of our amazing selection of beautiful owers and plants. Our students have spent countless hours planting seeds, transplanting, cutting and watering to produce a gorgeous array for you to choose from.
The public is invited to participate in a shoe drive to raise funds for Holden High School Leadership Class. Donations of gently worn, used and new shoes will be accepted. ALL shoes are welcome. Work shoes, dress shoes, all ages, all genders. The amount of money raised is determined by the total weight of the shoes collected. All donated shoes will be redistributed to microenterprise partners through Funds2Orgs, a for profit social enterprise, and used in developing nations for impoverished people to start their own businesses.
The Holden R-III School District will hold Summer School May 25-June 28 8:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. Classes will be offered for all students entering Kindergarten the fall of 2017 through students entering ninth grade in the fall of 2017. Credit Recovery classes will be offered for 10th -12th grade students and we may be able to offer a dual credit option if enrollment permits.There are core academic classes and enrichment classes.Transportation will be provided the same as during the school year. Breakfast and Lunch will be served to all students free of charge if our school district qualifies for this through the USDA Summer Meal Program. Enrollment forms will be available at holdenschools.org the first of April.
At the February 13, 2017, Holden R-III Regular Board Meeting, the Board of Education adopted the 2017-2018 Holden R-III School Calendar. First Day of School - August 16, 2017 Last Day of School - May 16, 2018 Fall Parent Teacher Conferences- Oct. 23 & Oct. 26, 2017, 4-8 p.m. Spring Parent Teacher Conferences - Feb. 15, 2018, 1:30-8 p.m. Class of 2018 Holden High School Graduation - May 20, 2018, 2 p.m.
The Holden R-III Board of Education is pleased to announce that Dr. Michael Hough has accepted the position of Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Hough, who resides in the district with his family, is currently the Middle School Principal at the Holden R-III School District and will begin his duties as Superintendent on July 1, 2017.
Ardy Dehdasht has been named the principal for Holden Middle School starting in the 2017-2018 school year. Mr. Dehdasht has served as the assistant principal and A+ coordinator at Holden High School for the past two years. Mr. Dehdasht will replace Dr. Hough who will start his new role as the district’s superintendent July 1.
The Holden R-III School District is excited to distribute Chromebooks and MacBook Airs to students in grades 3-12 to use for educational purposes during the academic year. The purpose of our 1:1 initiative is to put current technology into the hands of all students to help enhance, personalize, and further develop our academic program. Chromebooks will be assigned to students in grades 3-10. MacBook Airs will be assigned to students in grades 11-12. Learn how to enroll your school-issued student computer device.
